CSR

CSR is an essential part of the Tech Design Group’s organization, and we were the 1^er trader to launch audit programs for our factories in China, notably for the LVMH Group, and more specifically for Guerlain as early as 2006.

When we talk about the Chinese economy, we often think of low-paid workers and cheap, low-quality Made in China products. Yet this reality has changed in many factories. China is an increasingly mature, fast-growing economy. Whereas 15 years ago only 9 Chinese companies were among the world’s 500 biggest, today they number 95. To stay competitive, Chinese executives are keeping a close eye on all the latest trends, and are increasingly aware of the need to develop production standards that are socially and environmentally sound, and in line with international CSR standards.

This change took place in 2006, when CSR made its entry into Chinese company law. That year, to facilitate the integration of Chinese companies into the global market, Chinese legislators added certain provisions to the law, notably concerning CSR reporting. And as early as 2006, we launched audit programs in our partner factories with the LVMH group, then with the L’Oréal group, Chanel and many others.

Today, all the factories we work with are audited, or are due to be. What’s more, we have a dedicated CSR team, which carries out pre-audits and monitors CSR developments to help each of our partner factories improve.

REDUCING OUR CO2 EMISSIONS

We work closely with EcoAct to help us calculate our Co2 emissions according to the GHG protocol, and above all how to reduce our emissions with our customers.
